Ahmadis: Do they represent Islam?

Ever since Hamza Ali Abbasi exposed turmoil at his Ramadan transmission and soon broke the Internet when he boldly questioned the prosecutions and oppression that take place against the Ahmadis (Ahmadiyya community), the social media – as it regularly does – is going insane.

The cleft represents people who sympathise with the Ahmadis furthermore idolize Hamza Ali Abbasi and those who actually know what their religion really is. The latter upsetting the sympathisers as they parade indications what Islam really claims about ‘the Seal of Prophets’ – the very thing that distinguishes between the Ahmadis and the Muslims.

The sympathisers are fastened up on but one point: Islam asks us to protect the rights of every believer. Although their claim is honestly legitimate but then again, they forget the fact that the same Islam waged wars against the false prophets in the earliest days of Islam after the demise of The Holy Prophet (PBUH). What the sympathisers fail to acknowledge is that Musailma declared himself to be a prophet during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself used to refer to him as ‘Musailma the liar’. What these so called sympathisers don’t understand is, the Ahmadis ‘pose’ themselves as Muslims but do not accept The Holy Prophet (PBUH) to be the last of the Messengers. It is clearly stated in the Sahih al-Bukhari and it should expel all doubts from minds of anyone who thinks the ban on Hamza Ali Abbasi isn’t justified – it is reported by Abu Hurayrah that Muhammad said, “My similitude in comparison with the prophets before me is that of a man who has built a house nicely and beautifully, except for a place of one brick in a corner. The people go about it and wonder at its beauty, but say: ‘Would that this brick be put in its place!’ So I am that brick, and I AM THE SEAL OF PROPHETS”

The Ahmadis consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as the Promised Messiah and Mehdi and this very belief draws a permanent line between the Muslims and Ahmadis, separating them not into just different sects of the same religion but announcing the latter into a completely different religion – Ahmadiyya.

Ahmadis 2.jpgMartial Law administrator, General Zia ripped the Ahmaddiyan community of even the basic Muslim rights according to Ordinance XX

So Hamza Ali Abbasi and the sympathisers, was the 1974 law declaring the Ahmadis ‘non-Muslims’ right? Yes it was. Was the Ordinance XX imposed by Zia-ul-Haq justified? Yes it was. Is it okay to take an oath from every Pakistani to declare Ghulam Ahmad an imposter prophet when applying for a national ID or passport? Yes it is.
