Summer mornings are so very private. You don’t need to share them with a lover to be content like you do with beautiful mountains because they make you want to fall in love. And they are not like deep green forests that make you want to be completely and utterly free. And they are not like long drives and empty roads that make you want to ride until the sun kisses the stars goodbye and your soul soars with the kind of isolation that comes with befriending the night sky and cigarettes. No, they just are. You can be alone and flawed and chained and lost and your heart can still feel like birds fluttering out of your chest and that fleeting moment of peace can stay for a second longer and you can breathe in the orange sky, and for the briefest moment believe that there is too much goddamn beauty to quit.
